ETSC values its partnership with Toyota, a partnership that goes beyond funding and starts at the project planning phase and continues through to the end of the project. For example, local Toyota subsidiaries in each country assists in setting up the lectures by providing contacts and liaising with professors in the universities.

Roads to Respect (R2R)
Improving infrastructure does not necessarily have to be an expensive process. Low-cost measures can have a big impact in terms of reducing the number or accidents, and this programme highlights exactly this aspect.
Four key activities are organised through the R2R programme:
The concept was developed by ETSC, and the above activities are organised in cooperation with 3M and Toyota. The partners meet bi-monthly to plan and follow up on the projects, contributing their teams and expertise.

- The Lecture on road infrastructure safety at civil and transport engineering faculties
- The Camp: students are invited to attend a weeklong camp in Brussels in order to broaden their knowledge on identification and treatment of high-risk sites and road safety campaigning
- The Challenge: Using the knowledge acquired at the camp, studentswill work on the cornerstones of their own road safety initiative ,
- The Award Ceremony: The most successful students would be invited to the award ceremony in Brussels where they will receive the R2R prizesis organised for those who succeed in making progress in treating the high-risk sites.

Next steps
In September 2008, the award ceremony for the 2007 R2R and the Camp for 2008 R2R will take place in Brussels.
- Organised 17 lectures collaborating with universities
- 560 people attended the lectures
- 19 students attended the camp in Brussels
- 12 projects were submitted by the students and 3 sites were developed into real projects
