The WWF Roadshow was a great success with over 5,000 visitors to their stand during the week. Many utilised the electric bicycle, which graphically demonstrates how much energy can be generated simply with pedal power. Visitors also inspected a Toyota Prius that was on display and more than 1,000 completed the Icy Quiz, winning valuable prizes including a free Prius for a weekend, enabling the lucky winner to experience the hybrid technology.
This is the third year WWF and Toyota have combined to hold the Roadshow. The project started in Hungary in 2007, and in 2008 was extended to include Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Serbia, Romania and Ukraine. The 2009 event has already been held in Bulgaria and Romania with other countries to follow later in the year. The Budapest event marked the start of the Hungarian tour of the WWF’s mobile exhibition, which is housed in a converted Toyota Dyna truck known as the Pandamobile.
