Toyota Motor Slovakia Receives Via Bona Slovakia Award

Toyota Motor Slovakia (TMS) has received the Via Bona Award for its environmental projects. The Award, which was established by the Pontis Foundation, is presented to businesses that promote corporate social responsibility. The announcement was made at a gala event in Bratislava, Slovakia on 30 March 2010. The award recognises Toyota Motor Slovakia’s support for a number of environmental projects, including the Greenways and Living Trails projects.

The Greenways project was established by TMS in 2005 in cooperation with the Ekopolis Foundation. Between 2005 and 2007, the Greenways project restored more than 600 km of walking and cycling routes across the Slovak Republic. Toyota Slovakia’s support of the Ekopolis Foundation continued in 2008 as part of the Living Trails programme.

Living Trails supports the sensitive restoration of tourist infrastructure in the Low and High Tatras mountain parks and aims to raise public knowledge and utilisation of the Tatras. Thanks to these efforts, seven tourist paths in the Tatras have been brought back to life. Toyota Slovakia and Ekopolis plan to continue this project in 2010.

Both Living Trails and Greenways also received support from the Toyota Fund for Europe (TFfE). We congratulate Toyota Motor Slovakia on the public recognition of their work to enhance Corporate Social Responsibility and promote environmental projects.
