Toyota Manufacturing United Kingdom (TMUK) has just launched the 2009-10 Toyota Technology Challenge. The Challenge is open to school students in the United Kingdom aged between 11 and 16 and can be run in conjunction with the national school curriculum. Participating students utilise their knowledge of maths, English, design and technology to build an environmentally friendly model vehicle. The Challenge helps to develop the students’ interest in engineering careers and the environment.
Competing students can choose to build either an electric or solar powered vehicle. There will be a cash prize of £250 for the regional winning team in each category. The national winning team in each category will receive £750 for their school as well as a six day trip to Greece for the team.
