Toyota Motor Italy (TMI) has announced additional assistance for the Foundation for Environmental Education’s (FEE) Eco-schools programme in Italy. TMI has supported the production of 30,000 CDs containing information on environmental degradation and sustainable development. The CDs were distributed to the 230 schools in Italy that are part of the Eco-Schools network. These schools have over 50,000 pupils.
The CD was launched during an awards ceremony for schools that took part in Eco-school’s recent Environment and Innovation contest. The ceremony was held on 9 January 2009 in the historic Campidoglio, Rome’s town hall.
Although the Eco-Schools programme is already supported by the Toyota Fund for Europe (TFfE), TMI has provided direct support to the project in the past. In 2006, TMI provided assistance which enabled FEE to establish an Italian language version of their website.
