T-TEP is supported throughout the Netherlands by local Toyota distributor, Louwman & Parqui BV. Speaking at a ceremony to welcome ROC Mondriaan to the programme, Lex van den Elsen, Manager of Dealer Development at Louwman & Parqui said: “ROC Mondriaan have proved to be an outstanding schooling institution in the field of automotive technology. Therefore we are delighted to cooperate with them through the T-TEP programme.” Including ROC Mondriaan, there are now fourteen certified T-TEP colleges in the Netherlands.
Louwman & Parqui also handed the keys to a new Toyota AYGO to the Automotive Department of ROC Zadkine. The new AYGO is in addition to the training materials that are provided by Toyota to the training colleges each year. The new vehicle will provide students with real life experience in utilising and applying TechDoc, Toyota’s official digital library of service and repair information.
T-TEP was started by Toyota in 1990 with the goal of closing the gap between industry and education by providing support for technical education and to improve the image of skilled technical professions through direct and indirect communication. More than 450 educational institutions in 50 countries around the world are now part of the programme. Each institution receives new learning tools from Toyota each year, including new Toyota models, as well as information about Toyota’s latest automotive technologies. Teachers also have the opportunity to receive training from Toyota, while the educational institutions are regularly invited to presentations and seminars organised by Toyota.
