TFfE nominated for Sustainable Energy Europe Award

The Toyota Fund for Europe (TFfE) has been nominated for a Sustainable Energy Europe Award. The awards are presented each year by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Energy and Transport. TFfE is one of seven projects that have been nominated in the Promotional, Communication and Educational Actions category.

TFfE was nominated for the award by an independent Technical Committee who selected the seven nominees from a list of more than 100 projects. The nominees represent the outstanding projects from amongst the official partners of the Sustainable Energy European (SEE) Campaign. The SEE Campaign, an initiative of the European Commission, aims to raise awareness of and promote sustainable energy production and use. TFfE became a SEE partner in 2008.

The Sustainable Energy Europe Award Ceremony took place in Brussels on 10 February 2009 as part of the European Union’s Sustainable Energy Week celebrations. Launched in 2005, the Awards aim to raise public awareness and promote the use of sustainable energy across Europe. The campaign contributes to the achievement of EU energy policy targets in the fields of renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, clean transport and alternative fuels.

The Commisioner Mr. Andris Piebalgs was the host of the event and congratulated all the nominees. Unfortunately, the TFfE did not win the Award this time. The Award for the Promotional, Communication and Educational Actions category was given to "Connect" project. Congratulations!
