Schools for Sustainable Development and Toyota Dealers Meet to Discuss Cooperation

Toyota Motor Poland (TMPL) and the Polish Environmental Partnership Foundation held a series of meetings with Toyota Dealers from Poland on 30 November and 1 December to discuss cooperation on environmental projects. The main goal is to provide schools with information on environmental management systems such as ISO 14001. It is hoped that the Toyota Dealers, who are all ISO 14001 certified, will be able to pass their knowledge and experience on to school students.

The meeting decided to undertake three activities in the coming school year including:

  1. A visit to the schools by Toyota Dealers who will present details of their environmental management activities and ISO 14001. The dealers will outline their approach to environmental problems such as waste management, energy saving, and water management among others.
  2. A reciprocal visit by students to the Toyota dealerships where they will be introduced to the environmental management systems and technologies the dealers utilise.
  3. An event with the local community where the students and dealers can present details of their cooperation.

It is hoped that the project will enable schools to improve their environmental management systems, ensuring that their environmental activities are effective and have a long-term benefit to their local communities.

The project has received significant support from interested schools and Toyota Dealers including the Carolina Car Company, Toyota Bielany, Toyota Żerań, Toyota Chodzeń, Toyota Radość, Prestige Auto and Toyota Okęcie.
