EcoDriving Held at La Casa Encendida, Madrid

Almost 300 people have experienced EcoDriving training in the Lavapies district of Madrid as a part of Toyota’s EcoDriving Europe programme. The event utilised specially designed simulators and was organised by our Spanish partner, GAP Spain. Three simulators were made available at La Casa Encendida from 4 to 7 May.

The EcoDriving trainees were mostly male students aged between 19 and 23 who were visiting the library and exhibitions at La Casa Encendida. (La Casa Encendida is a social and cultural project of the Caja Madrid savings bank). Each participant received a brief introduction to the EcoDriving simulators which have been specifically designed and developed jointly by GAP, Toyota and GreenDino (the simulator supplier) for driver education.

Nine employees of La Casa Encendida also took part in an EcoDriving workshop held on 6 May. Around half already had some knowledge of EcoDriving, but all showed an improvement in their driving abilities by the end of the session.

More events and workshops are being planned and organised in Spain, and also in other countries.
