Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK (TMUK) has achieved the Platinum level in Business in the Community’s (BITC) eighth Corporate Responsibility Index. The Index is a benchmarking tool that assesses and compares responsible business behaviour.
Companies that achieve the Platinum performance band have corporate responsibility integrated into their business model and clear responsibilities at management and operational levels. They have a structured approach to data collection and the assessment of their social and environmental performance.
Achieving the Platinum band recognizes that TMUK has integrated and improved corporate responsibility across all operations, through a systematic approach to managing, measuring and reporting the impact of its business in society and on the environment. Of 76 companies assessed by BITC, just 13 achieved the top Platinum level.
Toyota Motor Europe and the Toyota Fund for Europe congratulate TMUK on its achievement.
