TOP-25 were invited to set up the Driving Simulator in the town of Roskilde, Denmark by GODA, a Danish NGO which encourages responsible alcohol use. The Simulator was positioned in the town centre from 2 to 5 July to coincide with the Roskilde Festival which is held nearby. The Festival is the largest musical and cultural event in northern Europe, attracting over 100,000 spectators and participants.

Festival-goers who were wandering the streets of the town were extremely interested in the Simulator with more than 120 testing their driving skills over the four days. Many more people crowded around the screens at the side of the Driving Simulator tent to watch the action. “People were very interested. It was a good place to be, close to the festival,” declared GODA’s Anett Wiingaard.

The Estonian Road Ministry invited TOP-25 to the Õllesummer Festival from 8 to 12 July. Õllesummer is the largest festival in Estonia with activities during the day for the entire family and evening performances by top international groups such as Moby. TOP-25’s Driving Simulator was utilised by more than 400 people during the festival with another 5,000 watching on the screen outside.

Toyota Caetano Portugal invited TOP-25 to visit the north of Portugal for three events beginning in the city of Setubal on 9 July. Events were also held in Estoril and Aveiro on 10 and 11 July with more than 120 people trying the AlcoKart over the three days. This was the AlcoKart’s fourth visit to Portugal and the second this year. The events were part of a road safety campaign involving Toyota retailers from Lisbon to Porto.

Top-25’s Driving Simulator made its annual visit to Poland beginning with an event in the town of Opin on 19 July. The Simulator also visited Gdansk, Pisz, Radom, Warsaw and Wroclaw over the following week. The visits were part of an annual road safety week which is organised by the KRZYS Foundation. A number of famous people tried the simulator including Polish rally-car driver Maciej Wislawski who tested his skills in Radom. In Pisz the Simulator was placed in front of a stage where local band Kapela Jakubowa performed several times during the day. In 2008 the band released a song about road safety. The events received national media attention including coverage on the national television network.

TOP-25 will continue to travel across Europe to raise awareness of road safety among the general public.
