Toyota Motor Poland Recognised as Responsible Firm

Gazeta Prawna, a leading Polish daily newspaper, has listed Toyota Motor Poland (TMPL) as one of the top three Responsible Firms operating in Poland. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Poland (TMMP) was 14th on the list which is developed jointly by the Polish Responsible Business Forum and PricewaterhouseCoopers. The rating is based on each company’s social responsibility fundamentals, including its relationships with clients and business partners, environmental responsibility, and social engagement. Top position on the list was taken by Kompania Piwowarska, followed by Danone and TMPL.

In its comments on the winners, Gazeta Prawna noted Toyota's corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy, a key to forging its image. Tetsuya Takenaka, President of TMPL, has developed Toyota’s Polish arm in accordance with the pillars of Toyota’s CSR policy. Despite the current global crisis, Takenaka says Toyota has not reduced its commitment to CSR.

TMPL’s CSR activities include the Toyota Mobility project - the first and only programme for disabled car drivers in Poland. The company participates in numerous environmental and social events, and organises these projects itself. Activities have included Green Month, the Green Olympics, and Eco Driving. Robert Mularczyk, CSR and PR Manager at TMPL, says: “Ecology, education, and safety will remain the priorities within the CSR policy of Toyota in Poland this year and in the coming years.”
