Toyota Hellas has undertaken two major activities as part of Toyota’s global Green Month. The first involved the companies’ staff and families in the cleaning of a beach in Aspropyrgos. The work was undertaken in cooperation with the environmental non-profit organisation, Mediterranean SOS and the Aspropyrgos Municipality. The activity formed part of Mediterranean SOS’s “Clean the Mediterranean 2009” campaign to clean beaches, the seabed and other natural areas. More than 50 volunteers took part, demonstrating their concern for the local environment in a practical way.
Toyota Hellas also organised an eco-driving seminar for their personnel during Green Month. The seminar will help the staff to reduce their fuel consumption, and therefore the CO2 emissions from their vehicles. The training was attended by more than 150 staff from across Greece.
This is the fifth year that Toyota Hellas has taken part in Green Month. The company plans to take part again in 2010.
