The new Štajerski avto dom Toyota showroom is the first car showroom in Slovenia with energy-saving and environmentally friendly characteristics. It was built according to the BREEAM environmental standard, which coincides with Toyota's philosophy of preserving and protecting the environment. The showroom has recently become the first showroom in Europe to be awarded the BREEAM rating of EXCELLENT.
The building design is a combination of functional, aesthetic and other spatial requirements and at the same time it follows a very large number of environmental approaches. Thanks to the investor, the measures include those that can not only make a building energy efficient, but also target project management, including a well thought-out choice of materials used according to environmental aspects of their production, limitation and CO2 emission control as well as providing biodiversity in the building's surroundings.

The most important environmental measures are: high heat retention of the building with 67 % less energy consumption and meticulously chosen materials, heating by providing direct sunlight, using a heat pump for heating and cooling, using energy saving lights and smart sensors and conserving and upgrading biodiversity. The main purpose of building such a facility is reducing CO2 emissions, water consumption and waste matter. The entire investment, not including the cost of the property, stands at €1.4 million, which is €300,000 more than a conventional building. Toyota Motor Europe and Toyota Slovenija covered one third of the investment. The costs will be reimbursed in 12 years.
The result of the good cooperation of all parties involved is a modern facility that will provide quality service for all users thanks to its low CO2 emissions. At the same time we would like to see that it has a positive effect on forming the cultural identity of a narrower and wider region.
