A series of Drive Me Safely workshops have been held across Slovenia. Drive Me Safely aims to demonstrate and educate the public on safe driving techniques. Workshops were held in the major cities of Celje, Koper, Kranj and Novo Mesto, with the final workshop being held in the capital, Ljubljana, on 13 October.
During the workshops, visitors could test their driving abilities on the driving simulator and on the AlcoKart, a device that simulates the effect of alcohol on driving. More than 5,000 visitors took part over the four workshops. All participants had the chance to win the major prize of a Toyota Yaris.
The Drive Me Safely workshops were organised by Toyota’s Slovenian retailer, Centre Jereb. The event was supported by Toyota, major NGOs and the Slovenian Ministries of Transport and Internal Affairs (which has responsibility for the Slovenian Police).
Organisers were pleased with the number of visitors and the enthusiastic way they took part in the workshops. There are already plans in place to repeat the event again next year.
