“Toyota Green Month 2011” in Russia was a success

Objectives set by TMR as “Green Month” campaign initiator include TMR corporate image strengthening, ensuring Toyota environmental leadership in Russia, promoting environmental issues and establishing customers’, retailers’ and employees’ mindset on environment.

“Green Month” campaign in Russia in June 2011 was dedicated to eco footprint issues, which implied minimizing human impact on environment. In the daily routine it means that every person might review his or her lifestyle in order to reduce the personal negative impact on environment. Call to action sounded as “Lead by example!”.

Outdoors media campaign devoted to eco-driving tips was held throughout June 2011 in Moscow, the capital of Russia. Furthermore, Internet users could take part in the online-discussions and photography contest on special “Green Month” blogs on LiveJournal, Facebook and other popular social media. The winner of the online contest took Toyota Prius for a test-drive and was impressed with its driving and ecological performance.

For the first time in the history of TMR “Green Month” project 4 eco-classes were held in children summer camps in Moscow region under the supervision of experienced teachers.

In June 2011 all customers of 35 Toyota dealerships in 10 largest cities of Russia received eco-friendly cotton bags for shopping. These items are to replace the harmful polyethylene bags. Informative posters about the “Green Month” activities were also allocated at Toyota showrooms.

On 25 June, 2011 the 3rd “Toyota Green Day” took place at the secondary school in the region of TMR office location as contribution to the local community. About 100 people participated in the event, including employees of Toyota Motor Russia, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Russia, Toyota Bank Russia and Toyota retailers. As a result of the tree planting event more than 200 trees appeared on the school yard which was a pleasant surprise for school children.

TMR will continue to contribute to the local community with “Toyota Green Month” campaign as well as the local arts support activity every winter.
