- Roman Szełemej – the President of Wałbrzych,
- Management of European Education Foundation, volunteers and local citizens.
“By joining forces we can make a part of our town more beautiful and better to live in. We would like this change to be an encouragement for other people to work for the benefit of the environment and for Wałbrzych to be more friendly. At the same time we would like to encourage families from Wałbrzych and neighborhood to actively participate on projects during the whole year. We also aim to have the community perform their own ecological audits and monitoring, as well as to take part in further ecological projects, with best practices shared on a dedicated website”, said Mr. Klemm.
The www.ZielonyWalbrzych.pl (Green Wałbrzych) website provides the tools for citizens to audit their household, allowing monitoring of energy and water usage and comparing the result with others citizens.
Citizens are encouraged to join, by offering them an Eco-tour to the Toyota factory and Toyota Dealership, to see Toyota’s approach to environmental management.
Finally, active participation in each module qualifies citizens to enter the competition as the “Most Ecological Family of Wałbrzych”. The award: a family trip to a destination of choice for 5,000 PLN.
