First T-TEP Automotive Lab Opens in Portugal

The Oporto High School of Engineering (ISEP) became the first university in Portugal to be equipped with a fully operational Automotive Lab in March 2010. The facility was created as part of Toyota’s Technical Education Program (T-TEP) and features state-of-the-art technical and teaching equipment.

The new lab will enable students to study for a degree in Automotive Mechanical Engineering in a real-life workshop environment. Through its partnerships with Toyota Caetano Portugal (TCAP) and companies such as Audatex, Lusilectra or SGS, ISEP has equipped the lab with the most technologically advanced diagnostic and tri-dimensional chassis measurement devices.

The new facility will enable ISEP to develop research projects which will provide practical experience for students and increase revenue for the school. It will also allow ISEP to offer value-added services to other educational institutions and the wider community. The T-TEP lab consolidates the High School’s leadership in the Portuguese higher-education community.

T-TEP started in Portugal back in 1995, and since then, it has been working with 2 portuguese technical schools, having summed more than €200.000 worth didactic material donated.
