TME helps students to manage their charity

On November 16th, TME Human Resources provided Project Management training to students of the British School of Brussels (BSB) in order to help them learn to best manage a charity project they are working on.

TME Learning & Development provided Project Management training to nineteen Year 12 and 13 students and one teacher from the British School of Brussels (BSB) on November 16, 2011.

“The young students have a lot of energy and ideas, but they need a structured approach to running a project. They aim to implement 3 projects focusing on water, education and nutrition for 4 schools in Ghana. We wanted to support by teaching them how to manage their project”, said TME employees who helped out with the training.

TME Human Resource volunteers offered a training in project management, after the students had given a presentation about their charity project to the business community in Brussels.

In the course, the TME employees took the students through a PDCA cycle adapted to their charity project. In their project, the BSB students had started directly from the Do phase, so it was explained them the importance of strong planning and setting SMART targets.

According to the feedback given in the evaluation questionnaire, the students found the course very useful. One of the students, says, “The course gave me a good insight to the business world of project management. The training gave me in-depth explanations and taught us useful knowledge which was easily understandable.” Another student, says, “The course was extremely useful in that it showed us how to plan our activity.”
