According to Eneli Jänes, the Toyota Baltic’s Manager of Environment & CSR , corporate responsibility stems from a company’s management and vision, and every business enterprise should operate in a socially responsible way in its respective field. “For us, to be socially responsible means to have a deep respect for our employees, partners, the environment and community, and, acting in such a manner, to be an example to others," explains Jänes.
“Although it was the first time we participated in the CSR Index study in Estonia, corporate responsibility has always been an integral part of our company. It is a great pleasure to see that our stand in this field has been recognised accordingly. We will certainly continue to invest in the promotion of this area in the future as well," says Jänes.
To evaluate the corporate responsibility performance of companies, they were asked to complete a self-assessment questionnaire, which was then analysed by experts in this field. The Index-project is headed by the Responsible Business Forum along with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications, EBS Centre for Ethics and the Äripäev newspaper. In Estonia, the CSR Index was compiled for the fourth year in a row and 60 companies participated in the project this year.
