Toyota Technical Resource Centre in Sofia
The first Toyota Technical Resource Centre in Bulgaria was officially opened on 7 November 2008. The Centre is located in the Vocational School of Transport and Energy in Sofia and will be used to train both teachers and students in Toyota’s state-of-the-art automotive engineering technologies. The new Centre includes a lecture hall and computer room which Toyota Bulgaria has equipped with the latest resources.
Up to 250 students a year will benefit from the training provided at the Centre. A small number of these students will also receive on-site training at Toyota’s service facility in Sofia. The Centre will also be used to train teachers in Toyota technologies and in Toyota’s corporate philosophy, The Toyota Way. A number of teachers have already received this training and more sessions are planned for 2009.
The opening of the Toyota Technical Resource Centre emphasises the commitment of Toyota Bulgaria to invest in the education of young people to ensure the future of the company and to contribute to the sustainable development of Bulgarian society.
The Centre was opened by Mr Simeonov, Corporate Affairs Director of Toyota Bulgaria and Mr Matcumoto, Second Secretary of Economic Affairs at the Japanese Embassy in Bulgaria. Members of the Bulgarian Education Department, business partners, sponsors and the founder of the school, Mr Agura, were also in attendance.
