Waste Collection Day Denmark

Many motorists discard rubbish from the window of their vehicle while they are driving. As part of its efforts to discourage this practice, Toyota Denmark began to support Waste Collection Day in 2007. Toyota’s contribution in the first year was purely a financial one. However, in 2008, Toyota Denmark decided to support the day with a financial contributions and practical assistance from our staff and dealer network. Waste Collection Day is an initiative of the Danish Conservation Association (DN).

In the lead-up to Waste Collection Day 2008, Toyota retailers contacted their local department of DN to explore whether they could contribute cars, trailers, locations or coffee during Waste Collection Day, Sunday 13 April. In the week before, retailers displayed posters, handed out waste bags and encouraged customers to use the bags for waste, rather than discarding the trash out of the car window. This initiative also continued after the collection day.

On the day itself, 28 Toyota Denmark employees and their family members collected waste in the Herlev area. The team collect almost 93 kilograms of trash in just 1.5 hours.
